“I started making jewelry in high school and college, but I put it aside for many years while I dedicated my life to medical school, residency and the practice of surgery. After 15 years of successfully practicing surgery and loving it, circumstances forced me to change careers. I came back to something I had always enjoyed: art and jewelry design.”
“As an avid biker, I am outside a lot. What strikes me when I ride are the wonderful textures and patterns in nature. There is a camera in my mind that clicks little frames of the sights that serve as the inspiration for my jewelry. Sometimes, it is the juxtaposition of colors, sometimes, the overlapping shapes and sometimes, the contrast of textures that captures my attention. All of it is seen a little out of focus as I speed by on my bike. My jewelry reflects that sense of movement and energy, and slightly out of focus images that I experience.”
“Ultimately, I hope that my jewelry evokes an appreciation of the beauty around us, while having a quality of uniqueness that is inherently wearable and will enhance anyone’s personal style. As a surgeon, I was most often seen in scrubs but my style was always noted because of my jewelry. Sometimes, it’s the only accessory a girl needs!”
