Candiss Cole-Footitt has been a tetile designer for over 30 years and continues to bring a contemporary look to ancient textile traditions, bridging the gap between couture and wearable art. Her Studio is one of the few design houses that continue to dye and weave all of their fabrics by hand. It is also the only Atelier in the world that handweaves Ikat-Shibori. In 2004 Candiss developed a new collection of Ikat-Shibori fabrics Candiss Cole Designs is the only Atelier in the world that hand weaves Ikat-Shibori. These techniques take the silk through multiple pleating and dye processes to create a fabric unique to the world. Candiss and Rodger work side by side, bringing a contemporary look to ancient textile traditions and bridging the gap between couture and wearable art.
